Christina Bensi is a cellist currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in the class of Professor Troels Svane, following her Bachelor’s studies with Professor Xenia Jankovic at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Her artistic foundations were further shaped at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester under Nicholas Jones. Her earliest musical guidance came from her father and Marina Kislitsina.
She has distinguished herself in international competitions, including the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition, and in 2024 was a finalist of the Possehl Music Prize in Lübeck as well as a semifinalist and special prize winner at the 50th International Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Belgrade. Her artistic path has been supported by scholarships from the Deutschlandstipendium, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Yamaha, and Chetham’s School of Music.
Christina has performed as Principal Cellist of the Lübeck University Orchestra under Trevor Pinnock and is currently an academy member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. She has participated in the Gustav Mahler Academy in Bolzano and appeared at the Brahms Festival in Lübeck, with concert highlights including performances at Carnegie Hall with Athens Philarmonia as well as festival and chamber music projects across Europe.
She has worked in masterclasses with artists such as Troels Svane, Peter Bruns, Wen-Sinn Yang, Raphael Wallfisch, Antonio Meneses, and Maria Kliegel.
