Juha Jang

Born in June 2009, Juha Jang is a young Korean cellist recognized for his strong musical individuality and artistic maturity beyond his age. He is currently based in Seoul, Korea.

Juha is completing his fifth year at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts (KNIGA) and will enter the Korea National University of Arts (KNUA) as a freshman in 2026, having been admitted two years ahead of his peers.

He has received top prizes in numerous national and international competitions. In October 2025, Juha won First Prize at the David Popper International Cello Competition in Hungary.

His previous achievements include First Prize at the Ewha–Kyunghyang Competition (2024) and Second Prize at the International Dotzauer Competition (2022), along with multiple first prizes at major Korean competitions such as the Music Chunchu Competition, Seongjeong Competition, Strad Competition, and the Dong-A Junior Music Competition. He was also selected to perform in the Kumho Young Artist Recital Series.

As a soloist, Juha has given recitals at major venues including the Seoul Arts Center, the Daegwallyeong Music Festival, and International Art Hall, further establishing his presence on professional concert stages.

Juha studies cello under the guidance of Ms. Sun Yee Chung and Professor Kangho Lee.
