Jung A Kim is a South Korean cellist who made her solo debut at the age of ten through the Kumho Prodigy Concert Series. In 2023, at the age of eleven, she was awarded First Prize and four Special Prizes at the 11th Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, gaining international recognition.
She has received First Prize and Grand Prizes at major national competitions in Korea, including the Kwon Hyuk-Ju Competition and the Music Journal Competition.
Internationally, she has won First Prize at the International Dotzauer Competition, the David Popper International Cello Competition, the National Artists Competition, and the Manhattan Competition.
Jung A Kim has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the KBS Symphony Orchestra, the Korean Chamber Orchestra, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. Her recent performances include the K-Classic Genius Concert in Belgium, an invitation concert by the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary, the 1000th The House Concert at Lotte Concert Hall, and the 12th International Chamber Music Festival in Shanghai.
In 2025, she continues to perform on international stages, including the 185th Anniversary Concert of Tchaikovsky in Moscow, the Musical Festival of the Academic Symphony Orchestra named after S. V. Rachmaninoff in Tambov, and the Mostly Cello Festival in Seoul at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.
She is currently a student at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts, where she studies cello with Kangho Lee and Noeul Park.
