Niccolò’s musical journey began with a ‘love at first sound’ for the cello, sparking a flourishing career that has led him to perform alongside renowned artists and in prestigious venues worldwide. From a young age, he gained extensive orchestral experience as principal cellist of the Juniorchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, sharing the stage with luminaries such as Sir Antonio Pappano, Salvatore Accardo and Giovanni Sollima.
In the 2023/2024 season, he was invited by Italian cellist Enrico Dindo to perform at the Filarmonica Romana in Rome, presenting the lesser-known Cello Sonata by Kabalevsky as part of the concert series Il Violoncello Svelato (The Unveiled Cello).
As an orchestral musician, Niccolò has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta, appearing at major venues including the Santa Cecilia Hall in Rome, the Southbank Centre and Barbican Centre in London, and Snape Maltings Concert Hall. He has worked under the direction of acclaimed conductors such as Semyon Bychkov, Manfred Honeck, Sir Mark Elder, Nicholas Collon and Kirill Karabits.
Niccolò’s musical training has been deeply shaped by distinguished mentors, beginning with Jorge Schultis and Diego Romano in Rome, and continuing with Robert Cohen at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was awarded the Derek Simpson Bursary for his interpretation of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1. He is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music with Alexander Chaushian as a Frederick Johnston Scholar.
His artistic development has also been enriched through guidance from musicians such as David Geringas, Claudio Bohórquez, Marc Coppey, Gustav Rivinius and Enrico Dindo, all of whom have contributed to his evolving musical voice.
In 2017, Niccolò took part in the star-studded charity event Celebrity Fight Night at the Colosseum, performing alongside Sir Elton John, Andrea Bocelli, 2Cellos, Steven Tyler and others, an experience that further exemplified his diverse musical interests.
