Zimo Zhai is a Chinese cellist currently based in Basel. He is pursuing a Master’s degree in Cello Performance at the Hochschule für Musik Basel, where he studies with Professor Danjulo Ishizaka. He previously completed his studies at the Central Conservatory of Music in China before continuing his artistic development in Switzerland.

He has received prizes at several international competitions, including First Prize at the Karl Davidov International Cello Competition and the Knushevitsky International Cello Competition.

His performance activity includes solo recitals, concerto appearances, and chamber music projects in China and Europe. In parallel with his solo work, he is a member of the Kammerorchester Basel Akademie, further broadening his orchestral experience.
