Rules & Regulations
- The Classic Cello International Competition consists of four rounds – a pre-selection round which will take place via video submission, and three rounds which will be held on location at the Royal College of Music.
- Only a maximum of 40 participants will be admitted to the competition in London. All interested applicants must first upload their videos, and the chosen applicants will be contacted by the organising committee 8 weeks prior to the start of the competition.
- The application procedure must be completed online. A non-refundable fee of 50 euros is required for the video pre-selection round. Candidates invited to participate in the competition rounds in London must pay an additional 100 euros to confirm their participation. Payment details will be sent to interested participants after they have registered via the official online form.
- Candidates will not be admitted to the competition unless all payments are received. In case of withdrawal, no fees will be reimbursed.
- Travel, accommodation, and visa costs, if necessary, are the responsibility of the participants themselves.
- The jury's decision is binding. All decisions and votes of the jury, starting from the First Round till the Final Round, will be published on the website after the announcement of the results.
- No unauthorised video or audio recordings of the competition’s performances are allowed. All rights to recording and broadcast of the competition (as well as to the sale and distribution of the aforementioned materials) belong to the Competition Committee. In the event of radio or television productions, audio or video recordings of the competition, the participants have no right to advance claims or financial requests to the producers or transmitters.
- A pianist will be provided by the competition if needed. Participants have the right to bring their own pianist should they wish to do so.
