Classic Cello Finalist Mikayel Voskanyan Performs Master Graduation Concert at Conservatorium Maastricht
The concert took place on 25 June 2026 in the renowned Willem Hijstek Hall as part of the Conservatorium Maastricht's annual Graduation Concerts series, showcasing the institution's most accomplished graduating musicians.
A student of the distinguished cellist Alexander Chaushian, Voskanyan has built a strong reputation through performances across Europe and beyond. His graduation recital represented the culmination of several years of advanced study at one of the Netherlands' leading music institutions, where he completed his Master's degree with distinction.
The Armenian cellist's presence at Conservatorium Maastricht has extended well beyond his graduation performance. Earlier in the year, he was also featured in the institution's Chamber Music Festival 2026, collaborating with internationally respected musicians including violist Razvan Popovici, violinist Lisa Jacobs, and pianist Catalin Serban. As part of the festival programme, Voskanyan performed Brahms' monumental Piano Quartet No. 2 in A Major, Op. 26, appearing both in rehearsal sessions and in the festival's concluding Guest Teachers' Concert.
Voskanyan's graduation concert followed an impressive season that included his participation in the Classic Cello International Competition in London, where he advanced to the final stages of the competition and distinguished himself among an international field of young cellists. His growing concert activity has brought him to prestigious venues throughout Europe, while his artistic development continues to attract increasing attention within the international cello community.
